Airport transfers and day-tour coaches: no more phone calls at the meeting point
Pre-departure verification 8-10 min to under 2 min; passenger-present-but-not-on-the-list disputes 6 per month to 1; drivers no longer make calls.
Luyuan runs airport transfers and day-tour coaches around the city: six vehicles, about 14 departures a day. Before launch, staff exported the name list the night before as a screenshot and sent it to the driver, who counted heads against the image at the meeting point and phoned the office whenever someone was added or moved.
The problem was that the list was last night snapshot. In peak season people still book or change on the morning of travel, so the driver image was wrong. Measured delay averaged 8-10 minutes per trip; the worst case was waiting for one extra passenger and cascading two later departures.
The change was simple. Routes, departures and seat inventory went into the system, and travellers receive a check-in code after booking. Drivers scan at the meeting point, so a successful scan is the validation and the list is live rather than from last night. Last-minute moves are edited on the departure record and the driver view follows.
Two months in: pre-departure verification 8-10 min to under 2 min; passenger-present-but-not-on-the-list disputes from around 6 a month to 1; drivers no longer call, and the morning shift call volume dropped noticeably. They did not measure that precisely, so we are not inventing a figure.
A side effect is reconciliation: scanned headcount per departure matches order count, so month-end settlement with drivers no longer relies on memory. They now also use ticketed events for weekend camping coach plus campsite ticket sessions, on the same QR check-in.
